GCCG visits Grove City Middle School...

On March 4, students in Ms. Santry's 6th grade science classes were introduced to Grove City Community Garden!  Over 150 students will be participating in the "Cool Kids Compost" program, learning about food waste composting and sustainable, organic gardening.  The 6th grade classes will observe composting in their classroom with kits donated by the Garden program.  Students will also start pepper, tomato, onion, parsley and oregano plants, then transplant their seedlings into three beds in the Garden patch.  It's exciting to see and hear the student's enthusiastic ideas as they learn more about composting and organic gardening in the 'outdoor classroom'!

Mrs. Yesko's art club students will be making garden patch 'markers' for each of the beds in the Community Garden.  This is another wonderful example of how students can share their talents and contribute to community programs.
